What's inside every envelope

One plain envelope. Five things worth opening slowly.

A personal letter from Scott

Where I am this month, what I've seen, what I've been thinking about — written like a letter from an old friend, not a newsletter.

The next chapter of the story

A twelve-part tale drawn from queer history, one chapter a month, each ending right where you'll want the next.

A collectible postcard

An oil-painting portrait from that month's story on one side; a handful of true, surprising facts on the other.

A seasonal sticker

Small, cheerful, and different every month — a little marker of the time of year.

A collector's sleeve  (month one only)

A twelve-slot sleeve to hold the year's postcards. By December, you'll have the whole set.

Hello — I'm Scott.

I'm a British bloke in my fifties who lives out of a suitcase — right now that's Bali. Gay Mail started because I missed the thing a text can't do: something real turning up in your hand. So once a month Isit down, actually write, and post it to you myself — from wherever in the world I happen to be.

How it works

1  You join

Sign up in a minute and pop in the address you'd like your post sent to.

2  Scott hand-assembles it

On the 15th of each month, every envelope is filled, sealed and stamped by hand.

3  It arrives, discreetly

A plain envelope lands on your doormat. No branding on the outside — only you know what's in it.

Private, always

Physical mail is more personal than a screen — so discretion matters. Here's how we handle it:

  • The outer envelope is plain. No brand name, no clue to what's inside.

  • Your card statement shows a neutral name — never "Gay Mail".

  • Any text or reminder simply says "your letter is on its way."

  • Your address is yours. It's never shared, sold, or shown to anyone.

Before you ask

Where does it post from?

Wherever I am in the world that month — I live out of a suitcase and I'm based in Bali right now. It travels by international post to your door in the UK, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, or Anywhere else.

Is it really written by a person?

Yes. The letter is written by Scott and every envelope is assembled by hand. That's the whole point.

Will anyone know what it is?

No. Plain envelope, neutral billing, discreet reminders. See 'Private, always' above.

Can I give it as a gift?

Yes — you can send it to someone else's address and we'll keep the billing to you.

What if I want to stop?

Cancel any time, in a click. No phone calls, no guilt.
